Every Christmas Eve no matter where we are in the world, Martin and I (and whoever wants to join) find a Christmas Eve church service to attend. It’s always a big to-do for us: ladies in dresses, men in suits. I couldn’t resist wearing this beautiful Kate Spade winter floral silk dress for Christmas Eve service this year.

I met up with my best friend Audra this week in her hometown of Orlando so we could hit the outlets for their pre-Christmas sales, and we practically stole from some of the shops. Kate Spade was having 70% off most of their items and 60% off the sale price. I found this dress on the sale rack and fell in love! When I got to the check out, the man who was helping said the price was marked wrong and should have been much lower, then took an additional 60% off of that! Thank you, kind man, for selling me a $498 dress for $91.60. #winning

I love the idea of wearing bows for the holiday season. It’s perfectly reflective of the packages under the tree that are selected, wrapped, and tied with care. I accessorized with a new Kate Spade necklace with blue stones and Kate Spade rhinestone bow bracelet – both from the sale – and bow earrings I’ve had for a couple years from the line My Flat in London (appropriate, no?).

After Audra and I hit up Kate Spade, we found the most adorable black suede bow shoes with gold accents at BCBG. And yet again, when we got to the register to pay, the salesperson told us the price was marked incorrectly and dropped the price. I paid $23 for these shoes! Seriously, best shopping day ever. I will definitely be pairing them with so many other outfits I already own.

I felt so elegant and beautiful walking into church Christmas Eve. There’s something magical about putting on a carefully selected outfit and taking the time to do your hair and makeup. I truly believe showing care in your attire is a manner of respect for the place you’re attending and the people you’re with. And for me, there is no more important an event that the celebration and reverence of Jesus’ birth.
