A new calendar year for me has always been the time to reflect on the year past and bring change to the year ahead. This past year, Martin and I were (finally!) married and adopted our new dog Tucker. We made 2016 a celebration of our new life as husband and wife; we married in America in January and had our wedding blessing in England in July.
This year we spent a collective four months apart due to Martin’s racing career, and he has been making strong impressions in the sports car and coaching worlds. In 2017, Martin will be racing for Ultratek Racing in the British GT Series, and he will be coaching British actor Kelvin Fletcher in his racing career. [Woo! A contract before Christmas!] The demand of this new job means Martin and I will need to be based in England full-time.
That’s right! In late February, Martin and I will be relocating to England!
We will be living in the most adorable little village in the center of England, about 2 hours north of London. We found the perfect cottage to call home called Holly Tree Cottage (hence the name of this blog). The cottage was built in the 1500s, is located on a four-acre horse farm. We keep saying how excited we are to give the dogs the run of the land!
My business, Next Level Pageantry, will be continuing through the miracle of Skype. I’m already using it for clients who are unable to drive to Indianapolis, and it is just as effective as in-person coaching. I will be narrowing my focus to interview, paperwork, and communications training (though I still have a love for helping with wardrobe decisions! #sparkles). I will be connecting with pageants in the UK to continue in-person training for UK-based contestants.
If you’re interested in doing an in-person session before we move in late February, please email me at nicole@nextlevelpageantry.com. I will still be honoring all sponsorships for Miss Indiana and Outstanding Teen contestants. Your free one-hour session will be done in-person or through Skype before our move date, or it will be done over Skype after our move date.
Be sure to visit my new business website here: NLP Website. You can learn more about Next Level Pageantry, purchase sessions, subscribe to the Next Level Pageantry newsletter.
We would never leave without taking our fur-babies. Grace and Tucker will be flying with the same company Martin’s parents have used to fly their dog between America and the U.K.

Did you know my John lived in England for 7 years north of London, his mother was from there and met his dad who was in the service. You will do great things there just as you have here.

I didn’t realize he lived there! That’s such a special connection. When you all visit the U.K., let me know! We would love to host you!
